WiSPS Annual Conference 2017

By Maria Montt Strabucchi • news • 24 Oct 2017

As part of its celebration of ‘100 years of Spanish’, the University of Leeds is delighted to host the XVIII Annual Women in Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies (WISPS) Conference on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 November 2017.

WISPS organises annual conferences to act as a focus for all those in Great Britain and Ireland researching into fields such as anthropology, geography, history, linguistics, literature, politics and audio, film, intermedial, theatre and performance studies, among others, within Luso-Hispanic cultures. WISPS also provides a wide network of trans and cis women researchers interested in feminist, gender and queer studies, and a challenging but informal forum in which these issues and work-in-progress can be discussed.

Keynote speakers include Professors Stephanie Dennison (Leeds) and Nuria Capdevila-Argüelles (Exeter), and the Argentinian experimental writer/artist Belén Gache.

For the programme, registration and other relevant information please visit the conference website here.
